About me
Hi, I'm Saya 👋
I'm a UI/UX and digital product designer based between Guildford, UK and Tokushima, Japan. I've spent over a decade designing things that live on screens — from brand campaigns and Shopify stores to SaaS products and landing pages. Whatever the project, I care about the same things: making it intuitive, making it beautiful, and making it work.
After a year of maternity leave, I'm returning to freelance — and genuinely looking forward to getting back to work I love.

Background
Experience & Expertise
I started out as a graphic designer in Tokyo in 2013, working across fashion, beauty, and entertainment — with clients including L'Oréal, Sony, and Avex. Over time my focus shifted toward UI/UX and digital product design — first as a UI designer at an e-commerce agency, then most recently as a product designer at an edtech company, where I worked on their SaaS platform alongside product and engineering teams.
That mix of background — brand, e-commerce, and product — means I can adapt to where you are and what you actually need.

I'm happiest working closely with founders, small teams, and in-house product teams — either slotting into your existing process or leading a project from scratch. I'll keep communication clear, ask the right questions early, and deliver work that your developers will actually enjoy building from.
